Snell Cottage

This cabin in the woods was designed for my brother and his family for their property on Gambier Island near Vancouver, BC. It is a gorgeous ocean wilderness setting with steep rock faces, large trees and beautiful views of the mountains. The cabin is designed as a simple framed structure with a sleeping loft which opens onto the main living space. The main living space has a cathedral ceiling with large ladder effect central windows which frame views of the slender coniferous trees and the ocean beyond. Corner windows extend to the floor to provide dramatic views and a sense of floating above the land.
