Hayes Garden, Toronto, 1998
The large rectangular back yard space is broken up into distinct curvilenear areas in this landscape design. The area closest to the house contains a rock garden, waterfall and pond next to a flat flagstone patio. Large rocks are used to build up the middle portion of the garden with a path between the rocks and a trellis overhead. Different textures are created with materials such as river stone, flagstone, large rocks and planting. The area furthest from the house includes a vegetable garden to the south and a shade garden to the north.
