Garden Design

Hayes Garden, Toronto, 1998

The large rectangular back yard space is broken up into distinct curvilenear areas in this landscape design. The area closest to the house contains a rock garden, waterfall and pond next to a flat flagstone patio. Large rocks are used to build up the middle portion of the garden with a path between the rocks and a trellis overhead.  Different textures are created with materials such as river stone, flagstone, large rocks and planting.  The area furthest from the house includes a vegetable garden to the south and a shade garden to the north.

This garden was designed as an integral part of the house. You can see photographs of the house and garden by clicking on Earp House.  An entrance bridge was also designed as part of the garden.
